Dell saves $US1.8M/yr turning off its 50,000 PCs at night
My most recent column in the National Post (Aug. 14/09) discusses another instance of wasted energy. Nearly half of the 108 million corporate PCs and monitors in the US are left on overnight and weekends, using $3 – 4.3 billion in needless electricity per year. Globally it’s an over $13 billion issue.
